    • Name assumedly derived from the substance setting under heat rather than over time
  • Used in the construction of emergency shelters (TOS: "The Devil in the Dark")
  • Sometimes used in situations where concrete would be unsufficiently strong
    • e.g., 2.4 km pylons of duranium-reinforced thermoconcrete used to support Arcadia Explorer mining platform (DIS Novel: Desperate Hours)
