Before the War

• Following the opening of interphasic rifts between outskirts of Tholian Assembly, Alpha Quadrant, and space near to Oghen, Small Magellanic Cloud, occasional passage of Tholian vessels through rift to territory of Neyel Hegemony lead to regular combat, as neither party is aware of the legitimate sentience of the other. • Conflict is exacerbated through the negative impact these rifts have on the primary of Oghen, due in part to improper efforts by Tholian scientists to close them on the Alpha Quadrant end. (TLE Novel: The Sundered)
